An extract from this book Bishops Masereka Medical Clinic. It starts with morning preys and songs, introduces us to the administrative staff before following the local population to the reception desk and then to the waiting areas before being admitted to the wards. It documents the surgery and the recovery, the wonders of maternity, the grimaces of immunisation and the pain of watching one’s own sick child.
This book is dedicated to the people who make this clinic work.
They merit better, but what they truly need is an establishment that could be called a hospital.

During this occassion I visited the Queen Victoria Park. I have posted some photos of the animal park on the 3rd page.
